every friday hugg & pepp sits down to have their mid day break after having a sturdy lunch at the partymakers. pepp is usually not late to suggest that something sweet should be consumed during this time in order to get inspiration and joy. hugg, who is also known for his sense of culinary experiences sometimes surprises pepp with exciting creations from all corners of the world. this particular friday, the team has choosen the mormors hosta, a typical swedish bread in wich a special yellow fudge, the hosta, can be found in the middle of this delicious bakery dedicated to our beloved grandmother. pepp, who is specially found of the hosta, also suggested that the two would make a tribute to grandfather so they wrapped the mormorshosta in a farfarskofta into a roll, then split it in half and feasted on this magnificent little piece in a cheerful mood. after this, filled up and satisfied they returned to their mystery machine and started to feed it with this new recepie. at first the machine returned some strange messages but after correcting the proportions between the amount of hosta and bread the machine successfully coughed up a banging bassline.

as we found this fabolous track from bruce lenkei, we couldnt believe that this was not an original from the cosmic era, instead it is a new production. this track immediately came on to us very strong with its magic sounds and the great atmosphere, which describes the title best. after we included the moonlightzombiedance into our mix for the d.i.r.t.y soundsystem from paris, we got crazy feedback from around the globe and so we decided to put it on wax. on the remix duties we have the hot talented michoacan, who earned himself a very good reputation with 12inches on labels like bear enterainment, grayhound recordings, tiny sticks and lektroluv under his belt. most recently he also got remixed by the almighty dj harvey and the glimmers. he speeded the tempo of the original way up and transformes it into a crazy krautrock stepper in the vain of goblin. it makes the people dance like zombies on speed - we experienced :). if you dig the zombiezombie stuff you will love this one.

dj alex romano comes out right with a track banging with chunky beats, ultra-funk grooves, trumpets, synths and a very familiar sample. the 12” package also has remixes by dutch youngster jordan rivera who gives the track a more minimalistic approach using only chopped up snippets of the sample adding ongoing stabbing synths and whirling sounds.

word we werent expecting this! this fine platter kicks off with a deft mash up of paris greys dont lead me and neurotic behaviour by psyche (carl craig) and then launches into a beefed up edit of derrick mays kaos. on the b-side is a re-edit of the kevin saunderson remix of we know it by the wee papa girl rappers. we dont know who did this and nor do we care. its a perfect party record for peak time dance floor lunacy. nothing innovative, nothing new but just adding a new twist to old classics and doing it with style. highly recommended

an >old school 90s meets dirty rave< style. headman could not let this tune die without the glory it deserved. he decided to enroll revlover in his relish label and to release his track on a e.p. with 2 very special remixes, as relish needed at least 2 crazy minds for this slice of sickness. canadian dirty 30, who already remixed his buddy don cash on the disco wreck 12inch, took the bull by the horns and injected some nasty drops of acid in this steroid-fuelled monster. on the flipside wicked aussies of zzz came courtesy of bang gang 12 inches with an amazing piece of rework in a pure nu-rave symphonic style with rolling piano madness and ear-blowing basslines that wont miss its aim of getting those asses shaking on the dancefloor

this time again offering some delightful grooves that will be appreciated both by the dance floor crowd and home listeners. nicely starting off the ep is berlin based greek producer ekkohaus - on his second tune for the label with a very detroit-influenced track, massive elements of groove and funk, exploding half-way through and teasing the listener as the snare/clap comes in on the half beat. this tune will be largely enjoyed by both techno and house fanatics. next one on the list is italian marco shuttle, offering a slightly different approach with his deep, long & repetitive journey of soft synth chords and elegant elements that remind of cadenza releases, providing a perfect tune for the after-hours or stylish warm up. on the flip we find ourselves with a huge tune from queen atom, perfect for the peak time hours in those big packed club rooms: a combination of detroit-esque funk, with trippy back melodies and percussive 909 toms waving through the atmosphere, resulting in a dark yet groovy slow-tempo techno piece. strikingly finishing off the ep is argentinean artist rudolf, already known for his previous releases on sthlm, who delivers an enormous experimental track with intensely layered vocal melodies: eerie, ghostly and combined with many industrial aspects, the result is an immense bubbly, watery track that will indisputably drive clubbers insane throughout the globe.
